medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Sehr Interresant! I have seen this "Old German" custom in Pennsylvania--which
makes sense. I don't remember exactly whose wedding it was though. I have had
a lot of contact with the Pennsylvania Dutch (ie Germans of Anabaptist descent)
and Pennsylvania Germans (ie German Lutherians and Moravians). I will ask
around and see if anyone knowns anything more than I do.
