KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER PROJECT (now known as 'Stòr Cùram: A Storehouse of
Learning Resources for Social Care')
Funded by the Scottish Institute for Excellence in Social Work Education,
the Knowledge Transfer project aims to establish a national digital
repository
of “learning objects” for social work education in Scotland.
The project is led by the University of Strathclyde in partnership with
the University of Edinburgh
and the Robert Gordon University.
We are seeking two e-learning advisers (one based at the University of
Edinburgh
and the other at Robert Gordon University) and a learning technologist
(based
at the University of Strathclyde) to join the national project team. All
three posts
are fixed term until July 2005.
eLEARNING ADVISER
circa £28,000
You will be working with social work educators across Scotland to support
them in developing “learning objects” for social work education, and
enabling
them to embed them into the new social work curriculum. You will be
educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with a strong ICT and/or
education component. You will have experience of delivering staff
development in e-learning within HE, and of collaborating with educators in
the design of e-learning materials. You will have a sound knowledge of
contemporary research into teaching and learning in HE, a strong ability to
produce high quality written advice and guidance for educators, and good
communication and interpersonal skills.

LEARNING TECHNOLOGIST
circa £28,000
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the production of high quality "learning
objects" based on sound pedagogical principles and meeting relevant
educational and technical standards.You’ll be educated to degree level or
equivalent, preferably with a strong ICT and/or education component.
You’ll have experience in the design, development and maintenance of
web-based e-learning materials and of training and supporting users of ICT
in HE. Experience of developing a digital repository or content management
system is desirable.You will have highly developed skills in the use of web
technologies, strong web design and layout skills, and good communication
and interpersonal skills.
