medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I'd be interested in knowing about Jewish emissaries to Pilate urging he
vote against crucifixion.
Can anyone on this list point me to texts in the Jewish-Christian
disputational literature that attack/apologize for the cult of saints
and its intercessory model?
So far I know Wecelin (does anyone know where his letter is edited?),
Gilbert Crispin and the Nizzahon Vetus. I am less interested in icons
since these involve prohibitions against graven images rather than
prohibitions against intercession.
