Student Online Learning Experience (SOLE), funded by LTSN and JISC, an
evaluation of students' usage of virtual learning environments (VLEs) in
higher and further education.
Research was carried out between October 2002 to March 2004 at ten UK
universities and two FE colleges, covering a broad range of subjects
including: Education, Economics, Psychology, Information and Computer
Science, and Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism, with diverse online
learning requirements.
Eight case study reports and an in-depth discourse analysis of the study
are now available from http://sole.ilrt.bris.ac.uk. A series of themed
reports will be published very shortly on:
Students' and tutors' role
Communications
Motivation and confidence
Activities, tools and learning strategies
Methodology
Remaining case study reports will be added in the next 2 or 3 months.
