I'm looking for a reference for the practice of including the metapodials
and the rest of the feet in the hide of ungulants. I've seen the method
mentioned now and again, but as far as I can remember, never with a
reference. Is it just a weird theory thrown in by someone ages ago, which
has since transmuted into fact, or is it grounded in reality?
/Lena
