SCOPE
Designers, producers, researchers and educators studying specifically on
agricultural and geographical identity based products and services, wine
and olive oil in the first case, are aimed to be brought together to
constitute an international information and design platform sharing
economical and scientific values.
THEMES
? The role of design in agricultural industries (packages, labels) to
develop value-added products and services
? Design, R&D and Project Management in agricultural industries
? Sustainability and ecologically applied designs in agricultural products
and services
? Developing distinct brand-identity and reflecting the geographical
identity to the products and the services of agricultural industries
? Industrial applications in agriculture and food sectors: standard-ready
products, relationship between fast-food and design
? Exporting strategies, retail sale and e-business in terms of
contemporary marketing methods, and their relationships with design

SYMPOSIUM CATEGORIES
Submissions are classified in two categories.
1. Research papers: Designers, educators, researchers and producers are
invited to submit papers regarding the symposium themes individually, as a
group or institutionally. All reviewed and so selected submissions will be
published.
2. Exhibition and/or company presentations: Olive oil and wine companies
are invited to exhibit their products, and also invited to introduce their
companies with presentations. The presentations do not need to fit the
guidelines for full papers and abstracts.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed. On acceptance of the abstract,
authors will be invited to submit full papers for the final review.
Authors are requested to submit their abstracts to

EXHIBITION AND/OR COMPANY PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Izmir University of Economics will facilitate 4 m?-areas and technical
help for the exhibition of the companies. Exhibition stands should be
built the day before symposium starts. Exhibition will continue 3 days
during the symposium. You can ask for more information by emailing
[log in to unmask]
Maximum time spared for the company presentations is 20 minutes.
Companies are requested to submit exhibition and/or company presentation
to [log in to unmask] by the end of January 1st, 2005.
SYMPOSIUM LANGUAGES
Turkish and English
Simultaneous translation to/from will be available.
VENUE
?zmir University Economics Balcova Campus facilities will be used for the
symposium.
