Professors/Readers/Lecturers
Mathematical Sciences at Brunel University has an established record of
research achievement with a '5' rating in Applied Mathematics in the most
recent UK Research Assessment Exercise. The University's decision to
expand existing research strengths has enabled us to offer a number of
important new posts. Specifically we wish to appoint persons with strong
research records at Professor/Reader/Lecturer Levels in the following
areas.
Mathematics
Applications are encouraged from those with strong research records in
any area of Mathematics. In particular, we would like to expand our
activities in one or more of the following areas:
* Computational Mathematics
* Applied Mathematics
* Mathematical Physics
* Graph Theory
* Financial Mathematics
Operational Research
These posts will be based in the 'Centre for the Analysis of Risk and
Optimisation Modelling Applications' (CARISMA). Its primary research
focus
is on the quantitative modelling and analysis of risk, and much of our
current
research activity is on computational optimisation and risk modelling.
Applicants should have strong research records in any area of optimisation
and/or decision modelling under uncertainty.
Statistics
Current research concentrates on stochastic modelling, risk and finance
applications, time series analysis and intelligent data analysis. We are
keen
to extend our statistics research activities and welcome applications from
those with strong research records in any area of statistics, probability
and stochastic modelling.
These posts provide significant opportunities to join an established and
expanding school and offer the scope and support for individuals and
teams to develop substantial research programmes.
