ROMANTICISM, HISTORY, HISTORICISM CONFERENCE
18-22 JUNE 2004
We would like to remind potential delegates about this summer’s Romanticism,
History, Historicism conference, to be held at the University of Wales,
Aberystwyth, 18–22 June 2004, and ask those whose papers have already been
accepted to REGISTER as soon as possible to ensure a place on the final
academic programme. For those who have not yet submitted an abstract for
consideration, but would like to, the final deadline (which cannot be
extended) is 7 May 2004.
Our Plenary Speakers are: Kenneth R. Johnston; Marjorie Levinson; Anne
Mellor; Susan Wolfsan; Alan Liu; Alan Bewell; Nicholas Roe; Tom Paulin.
This international gathering will be a significant opportunity for scholars
in the field of Romantic Studies to take stock of the orthodoxies within
which, or against which, they have been writing for the last quarter of a
century. Richard and I are both admirers of your work, and would be
delighted if you were able to offer a paper for the conference. We would
welcome a 250-word proposal, but a title will suffice at this stage.
Registration forms are downloadable via the 'Conferences, News and Events'
button on the University of Wales, Aberystwyth English Department site –
