Job Purpose
To analyse, using all appropriate statistical and data mining
techniques, customer transactional data, market research data and other
statistical information to obtain insights into customer behaviour that
will improve the effectiveness of brand marketing and customer loyalty for
The Client
Main Function
To develop the use of clients customer transactional data to
enable customer insights to be drawn and to understand the subsequent
business implications
To design, create and maintain databases of customer transaction
records
To produce reports, graphs and tables using data from those
databases
To use statistical methods to model customer behaviours, attitudes,
needs and other characteristics and to segment customer databases in order
to recommend to clients how best to promote their brands
To use the databases to undertake ad hoc analyses as requested by
clients
To check data for inconsistencies and omissions in the data and to
liaise with clients to obtain correct data
To help plan, design and provide presentations to clients
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
A good degree (2 (i) or higher) with substantial
mathematical/statistical content
A high level of numeracy and computer literacy
Detailed knowledge and experience of statistical tools and SAS
software
At least one years experience of providing statistical analysis in
a business environment
Ability to explain complex statistical techniques to a non-
statistical audience
Good organisational skills
Ability and aptitude to work methodically and to tight deadlines
Knowledge of and ability to use MS-Office
Good interpersonal and team working skills
Experience of SAS softwares Enterprise Miner would be an advantage
Experience of querying large customer databases and/or database
marketing would be an advantage
A Post Graduate qualification would be an advantage
