Hello David
for linear events, OI usually do the following. For events that span the whole length (e.g. DBA or field survey) I draw a line along the whole route to represent this one event. The other more targeted work (e.g. Geofizz, TT etc) gets individual events for each separate area, linked to the parent DBA's etc as appropriate. Which basically sounds like your system. Why aren't you happy with it??
best wishes

I know it's Friday but most of you will get this on Monday.
Any ideas on how best to record events connected with pipelines, roads
and motorways. I give the whole run one number and each intrusion an
individual number, but I am not totally happy with this method
especially for the older events eg the M4 and M5.
Ps does anyone (else)have motorways on their HERs/SMRs
