WILIP 1: OUTCOMES & PROSPECTS FOR RESOURCEšS WIDER LIBRARIES PROJECT
Wednesday 26 November 2003, 10.15am to 3.45pm
Stamford, near Peterborough
CPI Library and Information Policy Seminar
The report of the stage 1 consultative phase of WILIP the Wider
Information and Library Issues Project is about to be published by

information providers must respond in order to realise the vision of the
services that users will expect in the future. It highlights the key
challenges identified by respondents across all sectors.
AIM: this cross-sectoral seminar offers an early opportunity to examine and
comment on the initial outcomes of the project and on WILIP 2, 'Routes to
Knowledge' i.e. the next main task for Resource of working out how to create
the right policy framework and making the case to government for a more
joined-up approach to information provision.
TARGET AUDIENCE: senior managers across the library and information domain,
regional agencies and government bodies, library partnerships and
co-operatives, library schools, independent consultants, and others
concerned with the development of national policy and strategy.
Opportunities for discussion and debate are built in throughout the day.
