medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Pat McInthosh-Spinnler, Dear John McChesney-Young,
I suppose I should feel concerned by this weird message Pat
McIntosh-Spinnler received the other day, since « Francis Gayte » is indeed
my name, and <[log in to unmask]> is my e.mail address,
Well, I never did send any message of any kind to Mr or Mrs Pat
McIntosh-Spinnler.
On the other hand, "Assumption" was indeed the object of a file I did send
to ... Steve Collins, following a short dialogue between him and Jim
Bugslag...
>Steve Collins wrote:
>One text celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of
>the B.V.M. has references to the goddess Diana.
>>Jim Bugslag answered :
>>Dear Steven,
>>Would it be possible for you to give further details about this? [Š]
*BUT* I may have gotten something wrong and crashy when I sent this message,
for I remember I sent it using Eudora for the first (and maybe the last...)
time, and maybe I had it parametered not the way it should have been
(addressbook import misspelling, or somethink like that)...
So, I beg you all please accept my apologies, and you S Collins and J
Bugslag, here's this message again, which I'll send using OE this time,
hoping everything will turn out fine :
>>Dear Stephen Collins,
>>My request is the same as Jim's : I have been working on the Feast of the
>>Assumption in Elx, Catalunya, for a doctorate in musicology (in fact, a
>>manifold thesis dealing with the fields of music, medieval drama,
>>anthropology, mariology...). Will you please provide me a way to find out
>>about this BVM mention ?
>>Thank you in advance.
