Dear Karen Johnstone (and the rest of 'Lis-maps!),
Moira was yesterday (Thursday) 'un-subscribed' from 'Lis-maps' and
consequently will not normally be able to read messages from you or from
anyone else. Except that, as she intimated, she would continue to offer her
valued services on Fridays to the RGS-IBG Map Room [where all two staff are
still temporarily evacuated to a reading bay each in the Library], so I have
just shown her your message. You - and others - are welcome to contact Moira
via our general e-mail address [[log in to unmask]].

Dear Moira,
Thank you very much for your letter informing us that you will be leaving
the University of London Library. I will ensure Peter receives your message
when he returns from his vacation on the 13th August.
With kind regards,

Please forgive my using the list to let more distant friends and
colleagues know that on July 31st I will be leaving my post as Map
Curator in the Univ. of London Lib. Until the Library decides how to
staff the collection Susan Tarrant will be the temporary contact person
here and will subscribe to lis-maps from Aug 1st. ([log in to unmask];
phone 020 7862 8451).
As a singleton, and latterly, part-time curator I've not been free to
participate in national events as often as I would have liked, but it
has always been a pleasure to meet everyone and be part of such a great
community of people.
I've tried hard to tie up loose ends but if there are still some, I am
in the London phone book or Susan will forward a message.
I haven't used the word 'retire'. I don't do 'retire' and shall still
be found (I hope) in the RGS Map Room on Fridays.
All good wishes
Moira Courtman
