I'll post an answer for Barry here since its problably going to be a
problem elsewhere and Ian S-R mentioned it before. I am about to hit
myself.
The repository for EDG is now far too big, 9 gigs or so. Since old
boxes are recomended for the LCFGng server this can be a problem.
It's perfectley possible to have the
/opt/local/linux/7.3/RPMS/
area mounted in from an existing NFS server (bigbox:/stage/lcfg-rpms/). If you
are in RAL feel free to use gpplcfg.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:/opt/local/linux/7.3/RPMS.
1. On the LCFGng node just mount this area up in the correct location.
mount -o rw bigbox:/stage/lcfg-rpms /opt/local/linux/7.3/RPMS
2. All of the LCFGng clients will need access to this area.
To each of your clients add the following via a #include.
EXTRA(nfsmount.nfsmount) RPMS
+nfsmount.nfsdetails_RPMS /export/local/linux/7.3/RPMS bigbox:/stage/lcfg-rpms ro,nosuid,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,actimeo=0,nolock,nfsvers=2
That last line is all one line.
More genrally it should in theory be trimmed down but this is not currently easy.
