medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Perhaps my message never got through, so I shall send it again. I
have a ground plan of St. Peters which shows the Altare di San Leone
il Grande in the niche (or right angled corner) which separates the
left transept of the nave and the apse which holds the Throne of
Peter. To the immediate right is the monument to Alexander VIII.
Both occupy the Capella della Vergine, whose altar is to the left at
90 degrees.
I hope this is helpful. yrs, c.t. ault
