Investing in Sustainable Training: Training Materials for Public Library

available
Netskills is pleased to announce the release of a new set of training
materials for library staff, covering the following advanced library
staff
roles outlined in the Library and Information Commission Report,
"Building
the New Library Network":

The modules are based on workshops which Netskills has been delivering
to
hundreds of public library staff in over 50 library authorities across
the
country. The modules are ideally suited for anyone involved in or
wishing to
deliver quality cascade training.
Although these materials have been specifically created for public
library
staff, they cover a range of advanced web skills and will also be of
significant interest to library staff in other sectors .
Each training module comprises enough material to provide a full day of
training. Contents of the modules vary but include for example:
* PowerPoint presentations, with detailed speaker's notes
* Self-directed hands-on tasks
* Other exercises, such as group discussions and quizzes
* Guidelines for trainers on how to use the materials
Netskills materials are tried and tested in our workshops. This is
what
some recent participants have said about the workshops:
"Excellent information: vital skills for librarians in today's
libraries"
"...professionally delivered and appropriate IT training from an
organisation that understands the needs of the public library service"
"Best handouts I've ever had for training"
