Hi,
Like a number of other UK institutions we at the University of
Hertfordshire were waiting for a successful outcome to negotiations with
CHEST and the American Psychological Association for access to the APA's
PsycArticles. This has been a long running saga, and in the end the deal
didn't materialise in time leaving a number of institutions in the UK
with cancelled subscriptions and presumably other institutions like our
own who continued to maintain the print subscriptions not being sure
which way to move.
Mieko Yamaguchi informed this list back at the end of October 2002 about
the APA having a special offer until 01/12/02. I thought some of you
might like to know that the APA has recently extended this "special
offer" until 31/03/03, offering a 20% reduction in data fees for
institutions that currently subscribe to PsycINFO
http://www.apa.org/psycarticles/pricing.html
I would be grateful if UK institutions which ended up signing a deal
with the APA for it's PsycArticles directly rather than waiting for the
CHEST deal to materialise OR who have decided to continue to wait for a
deal to be negotiated through CHEST could let me know either directly or
through this list. If you've acquired access to PsycArticles through
another deal that would be interesting too!
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers
Lesley
