Hi - in general just use -cost - this is the main option which controls
the cost function generally for the whole algorithm.
-searchcost (I think - Mark is away right now and can correct me next week
if I'm wrong) just sets the cost function for the initial registration
parameter search, ie before the local minimisation. So you don't need to
worry about this option as this will also get set by using the -cost
option.
