Dear Richard,
As I see it, Baudrillard offers two arguments to deny the reality of the Gulf War: One, war is a conflict between opposing forces, and the over-whelming one-sidedness of the attack meant that what really took place was just a weapons/strategy testing event for the American military. And secondly, through total control of the media, that event was packaged and presented to look just like a war ? a perfect simulation (war as the ultimate spectacle etc etc). That's the gist of it anyway. Regards,
Dean
