Österreichs":740 gives a summary about dated Bison bonasus
finds from Austria, they are all from vertical (pitfall) caves, outside
of archaeological contexts. There may be one Preboreal specimen,
which is unreliably dated by pollen data from the skull interior.
Radiocarbon datings of other specimens are Atlantic or younger
(from 5090 BP. onwards). I'm not aware of any archaeological bison
bones predating this period.
