In addition to Mattias' comment about Sigtuna, I would add that at Birka
the cat bones came from all parts of the skeleton. That contrasts with
the Sigtuna cats, and also with other mammals at Brika, such as martens
and foxes, which were mostly represented by metapodials.

There are more examples from Sweden when it comes to cat remains with
cutmarks. As far as I remember there are finds from middle age layers in
Sigtuna off bones from cats that carries cutmarks, probably from
skinning. I think there are more examples off the same from other middle
age sites and I might be able to find referenses in english if you are
interested?
