Hello Car
Rather than just making reference to research findings you may find it
useful to obtain the recently updated guidance on the DSE Regs produced by
the HSE and published earlier this year. It is entitled "Work with display
screen equipment. Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations
1992 as amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regs
2002" ISBN 0 7176 2582 6. It only costs £8.95 and is available via mail
order from HSE books tel 01787 881165. (I note your comment re your limited
budget. if your budget does not allow its purchase, and you are an RCN
member, you may be able to borrow it from the RCN library.)
Appendix 3 of the above publication covers work with laptops. I do advocate
evidence based practice, however, being pragmatic, your employer may be more
interested in compliance with an HSE publication rather than research
findings.
Hope you are well - are you based in Birmingham now???
Best wishes
Anne
