I know of someone who works as a team leader on the shop floor in a
manufacturing industry. He is now a "worker representative" championing an
ergonomic approach to work-processes in that industry. He has had "in-house"
training from an ergonomist using a system similar to the RULA and REBA
approach to ergonomic assessments. He is very keen and appears very skilled
in using such approaches. He had hoped that his employer would fund further
education in order that he could commence a degree in ergonomics.
Unfortunately they have withdrawn this funding and he is naturally very
disappointed.
Do any of the subscribers to the list have any ideas about where he may
obtaining funding in order that he can undertake this study? I would like
to be able to offer him further constructive advice.
