And now a big hand for our god, Maradona

Fans of Diego Maradona have set up a "Church of the Hand of God" to worship
Argentina's most famous footballer.
Members of the Diegorian brotherhood have their own calendar - the current
year is 42 AD, After Diego - and one of their most important festivals is June
22.
This is the anniversary of the World Cup quarter-final against England in
1986, which they call the Day of the Hand of God after his notorious first goal.
"Diego's miracles - the English know them all too well - are insuperable," said
Hernan Amez, one of the three founders of the church, which has 200 members.
Their temples are football grounds once graced by Maradona. They have saints
who helped his career, and heretics who hindered him.
Maradona retired five years ago, amid scandals over his cocaine addiction, an
illegitimate child and tax evasion accusations.
