I tend to recommend the following to potential undergraduate economists:
JK Galbraith - Affluent Society, History of Economics, Culture of
Contentment
P Ormerod - Death of Economics, Butterfly Economics
Michael Stewart - Keynes and After, Keynes in the 1990s
Will Hutton - The State We're in, The World We're In
Paul Krugman - Accidental Theorist
These are a few for starters. I'm sure most lists have these title on them
and many others besides.
All the best,

Subject: Books for the school library
I have the opportunity to enhance our economics and business sections in
the school library. I would value any reccommendations, from the very
accessible
to those that might be of interest to my oxbridge economists.
I am particularly interested in "readers" as opposed to text books!
Thanks in advance
MJB
