medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
This note is a rough couplet of hexameters, so it would be worth
looking in Walther's Proverbia sententiaeque, mentioned by Tom
Izbicki earlier this week.
Nothing springs to mind for "conemas". To scan, it must be three
syllables long-long-(short-or-long) or four syllables long-short-
short-(short-or-long). As a sermon component like "rationes" and
"proprietates", you'd expect something like "auctoritates" or
"sententias". "Auctores" would fit, but it's a long way from
"conemas". "Exempla" would also fit.
I hope this is of some help, though far from a solution.
