medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Do either of your books discuss how Saint Katherine
came into being? I know this question sounds bizarre,
but it almost seems as if she was fabricated out of
air. What prompted some monks to claim they had a body
of someone who may never have existed? And how did she
get to be the patroness of philosophers and unmarried
women?
I'll be out of the office for a few days, so any
response to these queries will remain unanswered for a
while. And I do look forward to reading your books!
