medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Medieval-religionists,
Does anyone recognize the “five marvels of St. Augustine”? The context: a
Lollard was accused of learning this, along with the Pater, the Ave, and the
Creed, in early 16th-century England (although I would guess that it was a
conventional piece of orthodox religious knowledge). I have been unable to
find it either in printed devotionalia of the period or in Bloomfield.
Thanks,
Shannon McSheffrey
