medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear Learned ones, I'm looking for the some indications about the patriarch
of Grado (Northern Italy) Fortunatus, who lived in the first half of 9th
centrury. Aftert H. Krahwinkler (Friaul im Frühmittelalter. Böhlau Verlag,
Wien Köln Weimar, 1992, p. 211-219) ages he should have possesions in the
Vosges (Vogesen) in France and he died in monastery at today Moyenmoutier
("Mediano Monasterio") about 824. Are then any written sources about his
activity there? His tomb or architectural ornaments of a church in the
region, which originating from 9th century? I should be gratefull for
indications offlist. Yours Matej ®upanèiè
