medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear List-members,
In the course of his researches into the English
verbal charm tradition, a PhD student of mine has come across
references to the above 'saints', and we would be grateful for any
light members can shed on their identities.
Architriclinus perhaps derives from the 'ruler of the feast' at
the Miracle at Cana [see OED s.v. architricline] and may be
completely spurious? Hermedyn remains mysterious to us!
We look forward to hearing from you,
regards,
Malcolm Jones
