Thanks George for asking and thanks June for your impression - after
looking through quite a lot of literature about libri horarum, looking into Grimms
dictionary and consulting some Germanists, I got to the same opinion: I
found no hint for a medieval use of the word "Stundenbuch", it seems to be a
modern translation.
Interestingly the first meaning of Stundenbuch was a kind of diary (=
Tagebuch) for hours, a protocoll about what happened a day over.
