Dear Lynda:
Linguistic or ethnic groups of which country/continent/world[?]. Probably
the best (if you have the spare change) for world linguistic groups is
'Atlas of the world's languages', ed. Christopher Moseley & R.E. Asher
(London : Routledge, 1994), viii,372p. : col. maps ; 43 cm, ISBN
0-415-01925-7 : £395.00. Sometimes, alas, one has to resort to those
old-fashioned things called 'books' and use what is called a 'library'! For
'simple' ethnic and/or linguistic maps does not the online 'Encyclopedia
Britannica' provide such - in addtion to other similar general reference
works? And does the language of the source matter (i.e. have you searched
German-language sources)?
Hopefully (at least) half-helpfully,
Francis Herbert (Curator of Maps, RGS-IBG)
