fellow named Ravenscroft wrote a funky book [_The Holy Lance_?] a couple of
decades ago, dwelling on Hitler's apparent "confusion" re this object. as i
recall there was just (barely) enough there of substance to be interest.
i *believe* that there was a serious article on the relic in the Art Bulletin
in the 60s or 70s (??).
