now, *that's* an interesting connection: Ablis is a small town about a third
of the way from Chartres to Paris.
it is also not all that far from Montfort-l'Amaury.
and, as i mentioned, it is my understanding that the Bishop of Chartres (and,
perhaps, his Vidame) was active in the crusade.
sounds like a bunch of Local Boys from the Chartres Hood going down South to
have some Fun, to me.
what would a census of crusade participants look like, i wonder.
*is* there one?
