Derek,
Any chance of you e mailing me the "skeleton" of your audit (obviously I am
not asking to see the details that are confidential). We are just putting
together a similar exercise here at the Royal Brompton and it would be very
useful to see your format.
Best wishes,

Subject: Re: Audit in POCT
I've caried out yearly audit of NPT service support for past 7 years. This
was set up when we set up a support service with Trust approval and includes
audit against agreed audit standards. Financial, qa evalaution, sevice
developments and opinions of the users are all included. The report now
forms part of clinical governance programme for two PCT's in our locality as
well as Acute and community Trusts. Support is provided for glucose,
urinalysis, preg. testing, A1c and blood gases. The benefit are two fold in
that overall performance of tests can be assessed as well as the financial
effectiveness of NPT support.
Hope this is useful
Derek

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has conducted audits in
POCT.
In managing POCT, we all collect large amounts of data of various
types, but has anyone actually used data in the "audit cycle" to improve
the service at all - or explicitly designed an audit?
