of course I also agree with Umberto, Terry and Pam
concerning the importance of horn as a valuable raw
material. But we should consider the fact that the cores
are but waste of horn-production and the removal of the
skeletal part works best as long as the the tissue is
fresh. In Austria and also in Northern Italy we have
evidence of horncore deposits, most probably stemming from
horn producing activities. Therefore I would suggest not to
exclude a bighorned Saxon goat breed at all.
