Subject: Deciding on a new VLE
Dear VLE Users,
Liverpool Hope University College has been using a VLE developed
in-house for the last 4-5 years. We are in the process of trying to
decide on a suitable replacement. I've got the job over the next couple
of months of writing a report which will enable the Head of IT Services,
Joy Kumar, to make a recommendation to senior management about which VLE
we should go with.
We've evaluated Learnwise over the last year. I've seen a
demonstration of Blackboard (by their sales rep) and WebCT (at a
conference). What Joy and myself would really like to do is visit a
number of institutions who have implemented a new VLE in the last couple
of years to get their experience of both the process and the product.
I was wondering if any of you would be kind enough to let us visit and
to share your experiences. We'd probably like to be able to talk to
both the team responsible for managing/maintaining the VLE and to tutors
who actually make use of it.
Yours
Stephen
