Dear Pradeep and all,
What a stirling idea. I would suggest though that some sort of software
could be written to manage the rate at which words are suggested and
used, the source and discipline area. As a second phase, this might also
include (by whoever submits the word) the background from which the word
has come as some sort of appendix. This in turn, might give a reasonable
picture of the disciplines related to design, along with the words used.
A lot of material I know, but then there might be a number of people
interested in such a project. In my opinion, merely attempting to define
words without setting the source and context of the word, will create
even more confusion. In a sense, to define a word, as in the style of a
dictionary, is to anaesthetise its metaphor. One thing we have surely
learned from postmodernism (if such a thing exists) is that such things
as words are better left alive.
