Lubomir's statement that 'Design is not research' is disturbing. Every
designer knowing or unknowingly goes through similar steps as in research.
For a product of Design to eventually come into the market , careful work
based on facts, and tempered by creativity, is involved. So does Research. A
practicing Designer may not be paying attention to documenting the
'processes' thereby being unable to validate his/her contribution. This
does not make it any less worthy than a Researcher's work. To accept
Lubomir's statement would tantamount to accepting that Research is TRUTH and
Design is NOT !
I would say Design is a specific form of Research. In short Design is
Research !
