We include the info in a field called 'e-holdings' in our serials
database; i assume that if you list electronic journals in your
catalogue you've added a field for electronic holdings? Or use the
notes field? (Though in our catalogue records we say 'Electronic
version available - see library web pages' - we use DYNIX, (via
telnet) so the option to link directly to elctronic journals isn't there).
I've known students get rather upset when the year they want (
usually something like 1980) isn't available electronically,
especially if they're not on site so you can't direct them to a
physical copy immediately)
We still use a manual roneo for receipt.
Back issues suddenly becoming available - I'd recommend asking
your agent to let you know if possible, & also sign up for
publishers e-mail alerts - marketing departments SHOULD be
quite keen to let people know when extra issues are available.
I've a feeling that it's one of those jobs where you have to check
regularly, until you persuade them that for some strange reason
you actually do want to know....
Hope this helps
Kirsty
