and is now known as "St-G.-de-Fly."
Joanne, in his wonderful Dictionnaire Géographique, notes the old spelling,
comming from the latin _Flaviacum_, "up to the 13th c. the name of the
place."
he also says that G. was the nephew of St. Ouen of Rouen and that sculpted
scenes from his life may be seen on a 13th c. stone retable which was in a
chapel of the abbey church until the revolution and is now in the Cluny
museum.
the village --nearer Gournay than Beauvais-- is well worth a visit, with an
important "transitional" 12th c. church and an exquisite freestanding chapel
from the 1260s, a smaller version (perhaps) of the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris
(and also built, at least in part, at the expense of Louis IX).

Joanne says he died --at Fl[a]y-- in "658," but he is not necessarily a
reliable source for suchlike.
