Dear all,
Comments on the HMSO REGULATORY FRAMEWORK have to be submitted to the
Regulation Division by 14th January, which does not leave a lot of time to
coordinate a response.
EDINA will draw the JISCs attention to the Consultation document.
Proposal E also has implications. "All bodies licensing Crown copyright
material, whether HMSO, Departments with delegations from the Controller,
or Trading Funds, should publish their current prices and pricing policies."
and
"36. The requirement to hold Trading Funds to a published price list and
pricing policy is intended to improve the certainty and transparency of
pricing, in accordance with the Review recommendation that pricing should
improve."
We have heard that this may mean that OS would have to charge everyone the
same price. Has anyone else heard this? Again, possibly of serious
significance when JISC negotiates the next 5 year deal with OS for use of
OS data within HE and, by then, FE.
