Forgive this shameless advertisement!
At Leeds we've just set up (for a new intake of students in autumn 2002) a
new vocational taught masters course - Structural Geology with Geophysics.
Full info (with links for contacts etc) is available at the web site:
http://earth.leeds.ac.uk/msc/structure
We've set the course up at the invitation of industry - the idea being to
provide focussed vocational training particularly in reservoir structural
geology. Consequently there is a strong emphasis on the use of seismic data
(hence the geophysical tie-in). The course has evolved out of our
department's highly regarded exploration geophysics MSc and makes
considerable use of our industrial links - particularly through Rock
Deformation Research. The course lasts one year. We are still developing
industry-funded support packages for students and the web pages will be
up-dated as these mature.
Please feel free to pass this message on to any students who might be
interested or to professional geologists who might be interested in gaining
further training.
Cheers
Rob Butler
