Andy, I'm not trying to be critical of the Resuscitation Council - I teach on ALS courses too! But I am concerned that the
whole thing is getting terribly strait-jacketed and, frankly, complicated. I agree that the basics are easier, but my favourite
'impossible to remember' requirement is that you must return to 200J if a pulse is detected after a shock has been given!
Now bearing in mind we have disposed of checking for a pulse to determine someone needs resuscitation and the
requirements on myocardial stunning I find this an angel/head of pin sort of distinction. Please don't get your hackles up;
I am trying to raise a serious issue.
