April:
New Yorkers are not *necessarily* American. But I heard it used last week
in Chicago by an 'educated' person, born an Englishman, who has done time in
Jamaica, Texas, and Chicago. Perhaps he was confused by being also a French
speaker and writer? Maybe I should invite opinions from Westcoast
colleagues, too?!
