The Confidential Enquiry into Stillbirths and Deaths in Infancy (CESDI) was established in 1992 to improve understanding of ways in which the risks of death in late fetal life and infancy might be diminished with particular regard to avoidable factors
The findings of the Confidential Enquiry contribute to the teaching and training of health professionals; help purchasers, service providers and policy makers in assessing and meeting the needs of populations, and inform the public through health education.
NEW POST - EPIDEMIOLOGIST/SCIENTIFIC OFFICER
Salary Range: depending on skills and experience
1 Year Fixed Term Appointment with extension subject to review
Full Time 37.5 hours/week
Based in Central London
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in influencing clinical practice and national service development. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, Epidemiologist/Scientific Officer to join the national CESDI team, who shares our commitment to improving the quality of women and child health services. The post will be key in the development, methodology and implementation of future Enquiry programmes in these areas.
You will be a MSc graduate in Epidemiology/Health Services Research/Public Health with a good working knowledge of research design. Prior research experience in maternal or child health at senior level is desirable. You will be able to work flexibly, be resilient and adaptable, working in partnership with others. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to convey a wide range of data to different audiences. You will have knowledge and skills in the setting up and managing of databases and developing database programmes.
