Re texts for urban geographies...most textbooks reflect a European and North
American bias (now a minority of the urban population of the world) and
therefore a particular mode of urban modernity...although they rarely
recognise this...
One text book that inverts this and that may be worth considering is:
Rob Potter and Sally Lloyd Evans (1998) The City in the Developing World
(Prentice Hall, UK)

I am looking for some elementary urban geography texts in the context of
developing countries .At the sametime I am also looking for literature which
looks at urbanization and urban sociologyESPECIALLY METRPOLITAN CITIES )IN
DEVLEOPING CONUTRIES .s
I was reading Manuel Castells but found the book inadequate for developing
countries .
Articles and books will be welcome . I would also welcome weblinks .
