GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES IN GEOPHYSICS
The Department of Geological Sciences at Indiana University
announces two new graduate fellowships in geophysics. Areas of
study include exploration and environmental geophysics, earthquake
seismology, potential field geophysics, GPS geodynamics, and volcano
geophysics. The Daniel S. Tudor Fellowship provides graduate support
for students with interests in all areas of geophysics, and includes
full tuition, 12 months' salary support, and a research stipend.
The Chevron Geophysics Fellowship provides academic-year support for
students with strong interest in areas of applied geophysics. We also
have a number of research assistantships available for students
interested in projects on earthquake seismology, crustal structure,
geodynamics, and science education. We invite applications from all
areas of geosciences, as well as allied fields of physics, mathematics,
computer science, and environmental science. Student support is
available beginning in the fall semester, 2001. Both the fellowships
and RAs are open to students of all nationalities. We will continue
accepting applications until the fellowships are filled. For further
information on the geophysics program and graduate student opportunities,
