Cecilia,
I'm going to risk being accused of flippancy and
suggest that "mamatancio de cotone" looks like
proto-Catalan or -Provençal for "lady's dance dress
made of cotton." Is this even vaguely possible?
I'm also going to tack on a hearty "thanks" for those
quick and helpful replies to my Saint-Denis question.
