More important than standardizing how the recording is
done, let's try to make sure that a basic set of data is
actually published or made available.
It is very difficult to use and reinterpret a report unless
it contains something on how fragmented the bones are and
what the main modifications were (even if only shown as
percent identified of total n of fragments). The key data
then are:
n identified of each taxon
n of each element (by NISP and / or MNE),
fusion or other age data
dental age data
sex where relevant (medullary bone in birds; spurred and
unspurred tarsometatarsus in galliforms)
key measurements
